Amara, in Michigan.

Favorite LGBTQ book: Recently, I'd have to say I am J, by Chris Beam.

Favorite LGBTQ pairing: I... don't remember. I don't really pay a ton of attention to relationships in the books. <_<

About me: I'm 22, I am a writer (though I haven't written anything for the last year), and I run the fyeahqueerteenlit tumblr. LGBTQ YA books are a fav' of mine.

Random Fact: I am always behind on my sleep.

Hello everyone, I'm excited to learn more about each of you, as well as to share some vital insight about myself. I'm a gay activist, who enjoys blogging and penning fiction novels. I recently published two riveting books: Why Homosexuals Deserve Equality Rights and Life,Love,Sex and Money. I also just published a new blog, which can be found at http://authorblfowler.blogspot.com

I'm a paralegal, HIV educator and counselor, university student and writer. I've authored several books and hope to become instrumental in helping this medium become effective in the lives of countless gay and lesbian teens.

So please be sure to say hello as time permits.

Hi, all.

I am Red Tash.  I'm a former rollergirl, a mom, a reader, and a writer.  I used to do a nationally syndicated column on family & parenting life in a few hundred newspapers, but this time last year I got really serious about publishing fiction, instead.  I just released my second book, and parked the cover & blurb in the New Releases folder here on your boards.  Hope that was okay.

I write about fairies and trolls who play roller derby.  My protagonist in this most recent book (Troll Or Derby) is queer.  So am I, but otherwise, we aren't much alike.  It's fiction, after all.  She's 15 and I'm an old lady.  Wink  But she does play roller derby, too.  Hrm...I'm not making much of a case for myself, am I?

I don't know how many of you have grown up in rural areas, but I found myself thinking about that a lot when I started writing this book.  There are so many books about the fae set in urban locations, but I'd never read one about teenagers and bullying and the fae set in an area similar to where I live.  Meth labs, trailer parks, flea markets, tractor pulls...that's the kind of stuff we all love to hate, right?  Well, I wrote a book that makes fun of all that redneck stuff, so I guess you could say I found a way to use it.

Anyway, enough about me.  I don't know what else to say about myself.  I came out as queer a few years ago, pretty much no one I knew from all my life accepted that about me, and some of my girlfriends from grade school-thru-high school are still trying to wrap their heads around it.  If you're reading this and you're stuck in that twilight between being a kid and being able to financially afford to escape your circumstances, I won't say "it gets better" because you've heard that 1000 times.  I will say that meeting new people who do not have their mind set on a certain version of you makes being yourself about 1000 times easier.  In the meantime, escape into some good books.  That worked for me when I was a minor.  The worst thing that could happen is you grow up to become a writer and poke fun at all the stuff you loved to hate, right?   Cheesy

Name: J.C. Lillis

Location: Baltimore, MD

Favorite LGBTQ book: Baby Be-Bop by Francesca Lia Block, my forever YA heroine.

Favorite LGBTQ pairing: Annie & Liza from Annie on My Mind, who in my mind are currently toasting their 30th anniversary at a cute B&B in Cape May.

About me: I’m a YA author who believes the world needs more funny, sweet, and hopeful LGBTQ first-love stories. My book, How to Repair a Mechanical Heart, is about two sci-fi fanboys who fall in love during an epic RV trip to 6 fan conventions. I wrote it because I always wanted to read/watch the LGBTQ equivalent of Say Anything. (And also to come to terms with some nasty Catholic-guilt demons, but that’s another story.)

Random Fact: I collect argyle socks, and sort of hate myself for it.

so I just started blogging for the very first time and am kind of terrified. You can come hang out with me at jclillis.com. Don’t mind the cobwebs.

Hi everyone! I think I had an account here before, but I'm going to start anew  Smiley

Name: Mitch

Location: Australia!

Favorite LGBTQ book: The one that started it all for me was 'Holding the Man' by Timothy Conigrave. I've read too many great ones since then to pick a favourite.

Favorite LGBTQ pairing: Dumbledore & Gindelwald 4 eva. (Honestly, I like most of the ones I come across. I was very partial to Alec & Magnus for a little while there).

About me: I'm twenty something from Australia, I enjoy reading, writing and gaming. And chatting with fellow enthusiasts about all of those things! Nothing beats a nerdy conversation about stories and characters.

Random Fact: I have a cat named Susan. She is a terrible writing partner.

Name: I go by Star on book forums. But my real life name is Cassie.

Favorite LGBTQ book? It's extremely hard for me to pick favorites when it comes to books. So i'll just put the most recent one I've read which is Scars by Cheryl Rainfield.

Favorite LGBTQ pairing? Alec and Magnus from The Mortal Instruments series.

About me: I recently graduated with my associate's degree in Human Services from a community college. Looking at going back for my bachelor's degree though the money aspect is scaring to think about. I work with "at risk" youth, though I once heard a member in my community call them "at promise" youth, which i think is a much more appropriate way to look at their situations. Thankfully a couple of my kids are avid readers so when they mention a book, I've usually heard of it, and that gives me a way to build rapport with them.

Random Fact: I like to post in lime green because it makes it easier for me to find my posts and see those who have commented after I have.
